Played: Apr. 2011
Played before: No.
Heard of before: No. But I think I saw it in an old movie once.
Time spent: 30 mins
Completed: Managed to beat the CPU.
Mastered (0-100%): 30%
Used platform: MAME emulator. This seems to be nigh-impossible to track down. No sound, no background, but I experienced both on youtube.
Brief description: Old style western dueling game. Optimally played with your friend or Wyatt Earp, this game also sports a CPU-controlled opponent. Each player gets half the screen and moves in all directions, while firing in all angles. You have 6 bullets, which add great depth to the game. Could actually be a part of a modern party-game collection like Mario Party and the likes.
Story: 5/10 The gravestones on the original backdrop tells you that this is serious business.
Gameplay: 7/10 This seemed okay. The gun position is controlled by an analog stick in the arcade cabinet. This was a bit hard for me to emulate, so I ended up using the keyboard. Still, the game managed to make me smile.
Sound: 5/10 Just basic really, although it plays a small fanfare when you die..
Graphics: 8/10 The original is projected up on a detailed backdrop. Thats not really computer graphics, but still a nice try.
Epic win: Finally being able to gun down that other cowboy.
Epic fail: Getting owned by the CPU. It's from 1977. I mean come on.
Moment of strongest impact: Winning. Definitely.
Overall: 75%
This is the first multi player shooter I guess. Which means that it spawned Half-Life. Oh yes it did. Must be played on an original cabinet with a friend to be fully appreciated however. And I guess that will never happen for me.
